Bio: Phil Gochenour

Gochenour photo

Phil Gochenour holds a Ph.D. in comparative literature, specializing in media and cultural studies, from Emory University, in addition to a BA in Anthropology from the Johns Hopkins University and an MA in Liberal Arts from the Graduate Institute of St. John's College in Annapolis, MD. Currently he is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Digital Media Studies in the Media Studies Program at the University of Virginia. His recent research focuses on political and social theory of the Web and Internet, with special interest in the area of distributed communities and digital civil rights.
