Online Community Forum Project (Calliope)

Project Description

An online community forum that allows users to post messages, pictures, share files, and other functions with protections for the community including strong privacy protections and no commercial advertising.

Volunteers

Status

After many moons of research, the project team decided that there is no existing development project or development platform that already met the specifications for the project. A group of Extreme Programmers organized by Alex Chaffee agreed to take on development in Java of the Online Community Forum, now codenamed Calliope. Since then, the project has evolved a modified form of Extreme Programming to permit some non-pair programming in order to speed up development time from an all-volunteer project that meets in person usually only once a week. The SourceForge entry for the project appears at http://calliope.sf.net/
The project's main communication tool is the project wiki at
