Research: Online Service Provider Assessment Project: Methodology: Recruiter Request Letter

Dear {Potential Recruiter},

A project has come up that you might find interesting at the Online Policy Group.

We are looking into whether online service providers, such as Yahoo or AOL, discriminate against minority communities, whether intentionally or not.

To work out whether they actually do discriminate, we need to recruit volunteers for our research. To recruit volunteers as objectively as possible, we have to email general lists at various universities (for example, psychgrads@harvard.edu).

Please let us know of any lists at your university to which you could send a brief request. After we've reviewed the lists you send us, we will send you an email to distribute. Any volunteers would contact us directly with no further involvement on your part.

If you happen to know folks at other universities who might be willing to "recruit" for this study, please let us know who you have in mind.

The deadline for all responses regarding list candidates is {time, day, date}.

Please feel free to ask us any questions that would clarify matters.

We would greatly appreciate your help.
