Volunteer/Intern: Disability Outreach Coordinator
The Online Policy Group is seeking a coordinator for outreach to the disabled community. The Disability Outreach Coordinator should have contacts with groups serving deaf, blind, and/or other disabled folks, and a familiarity with issues particular to the disabled community. Prefer individuals with online policy experience and a commitment to improving access and ending discrimination online for a wide variety of communities facing obstacles online. Skill Requirements The Online Policy Group Disability Outreach Coordinator must have experience dealing with disability issues and with online issues, as well as a commitment to social justice. The Disability Outreach Coordinator should know how to sign for the deaf and should have contacts making it possible to arrange for sign-language interpretation at Online Policy Group events. Ability to produce Braille documents a plus. Basic computer skills, such as word processing, email, and web browsing are a prerequisite for the position.
