Research: Online Service Provider Assessment Project: Methodology: Email

Email testing consists of testing individual emails and email lists.

Individual Emails

Test out email to and from the various email accounts created at various access levels on the service and with filtering on or off. Then test email to and from email addresses outside the service. For all of these email types that function, test the category G, category H, category I, and category J word lists, from Appendix D: Word Lists, in emails for the various access levels and internal versus external email.

Email Lists

At each of the various access levels, subscribe to a list of category D, category E, and category F email lists to see what email gets filtered. The email list categories and a detailed methodology are in Appendix C: Email Lists.
